Selden Research Limited (“Selden”) respects your right to privacy. We have put in place security measures for your personal data and manage your personal data in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations.

This privacy policy applies between you, the user of this website and Selden Research Limited, the owner and provider of this website. Data security is of great importance to Selden Research Limited. To protect your data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure data collected via this website.

Only authorized Selden staff have access to your personal data and all employees who have access to your personal data are required to adhere to the Selden IT, Data Protection and Privacy Policies.

Although we endeavour to do our best to protect your personal data, transmission of information over the internet is not entirely secure and is done so at your own risk. We cannot ensure the security of your data transmitted to/from the website.

Password access is required for certain parts of the website; you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.


4. Who Selden discloses your personal data to and why

Selden will never share your personal data with any Third-Party (a party other than an entity within Selden group) business organisation that intends to use it for their own purposes, other than as required by law.

Selden Research Limited may expand or reduce our business and this may involve the sale and/or the transfer of control of all or part of Selden Research Limited. Data relevant to any part of our business being transferred will also be transferred. The new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this privacy policy, be permitted to use the data for the purposes for which it was originally supplied to us.

Selden will use a third party for the distribution and maintenance of Email Marketing (See section 8).  No personal data other than email address, name and consent/subscription status will be shared with this third party.


5. Your rights

You have the right to ask Selden to provide you with all the information it stores on you. You have the right to rectify, block, complete and delete your personal data, to restrict its use, and to port your data to another organisation. You also have the right to object to the processing of your data by Selden in some circumstances and, where we have asked for consent to process your data, to withdraw this consent.

You may update your personal data or preferences via the appropriate sections of our websites.

There are exceptions to these rights, however. For example, access to personal data may be denied in some circumstances if making the information available would reveal personal information about another person or if Selden is legally prevented from disclosing such information.

This privacy policy does not extend to your use of such websites. It is advisable to read the privacy policy or statement of other websites prior to using them.

We may utilise your personal data along with other information we have collected about you and your organisation (eg, sales order history) in order to provide bespoke web pages containing tailored information, guidance and technical support. For example, providing a list of safety documents for products you have purchased.


8. Email Communications

Should you choose to opt-in to our email marketing and promotional information services then this will be controlled and conducted in a lawful and GDPR compliant basis.

Under the GDPR we use the consent lawful basis for anyone subscribing to our newsletter or marketing mailing list. We only collect certain data about you, as detailed in the "Personal data Selden collects" above. Any email marketing messages we send are done so through an EMS (Email Marketing Service provider). An EMS is a third party service provider of software / applications that allows marketers to send out email marketing campaigns to a list of users.

Email marketing messages that we send may contain tracking beacons / tracked clickable links or similar server technologies in order to track subscriber activity within email marketing messages. Where used, such marketing messages may record a range of data such as; times, dates, I.P addresses, opens, clicks, forwards, geographic and demographic data. Such data, within its limitations will show the activity each subscriber made for that email campaign.

Any email marketing messages we send are in accordance with the GDPR and the PECR. We provide you with an easy method to withdraw your consent (unsubscribe) or manage your preferences / the information we hold about you at any time. Our EMS provide is ActiveCampaign (https://www.activecampaign.com/) and their privacy policy is available at https://www.activecampaign.com/privacy-policy/ . The following personal data is held within this system; email address, name, list selection, subscription time and date, consent status. 


9. Data Retention

Selden will retain your information for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. Your information will be used and retained to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations, dispute resolutions and to enforce our agreements.

Log files will be retained for internal analysis purposes. These log files are generally retained for a short period of time, except where they are used for website security, to improve website functionality, or we are legally obligated to retain them for longer time periods.

Selden reserve the right to purge, delete or archive data that is no longer considered active or relevant. For example user account data, which has not been accessed for a period of 12 (twelve) months, may be removed.
